John was a huge part of Dungarvan Camera Club. His knowledge of photography was extensive and he was always at hand with advice and support. A superb photographer in all aspects, he was always ready to share his in-depth understanding of his craft and share with all. His sense of humour made us laugh and groan at the same time and he delivered his jokes with a style unique to himself. A man of great honesty and integrity, talented, with endless enthusiasm, he will be sorely missed by who all who knew and loved him. John was a pillar of the Club since its inception. His educational and technical skills which he made available unselfishly to all members over many years has been a tremendous legacy that he left behind to all DCC members, present and past. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him in the club. We extend our deepest sympathies to his beloved Hanna and all his family.
I would like to share some of the many comments from John’s “family” in Dungarvan Camera Club:
“Although we only knew John a short while he was an inspiration and a super character. Above all, so totally dedicated”.
“His contribution as a Chairman and as an officer and committee member no doubt helped to keep the Club together and functional”.
“He was out with us in the Japanese Gardens (Tramore) so full of his banter and fun”.
“John will be sorely missed”.
Rest in Peace John.
